FPT to invest 100 million USD in Quantum AI and Cybersecurity Research
DTO/NDO- Vietnamese technology giant FPT Corporation has announced plans to invest 100 million USD in its newly established Quantum AI and Cybersecurity Research Institute, one of the first quantum research centres founded by a Vietnamese enterprise.
The institute will focus on several key activities, including advanced research, solution development, the training of PhD candidates and senior experts, as well as fostering international collaboration.
Quantum technology and artificial intelligence have been identified as one of FPT’s five strategic technology domains, alongside cybersecurity, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), data, and railway mobility technology.

To oversee these initiatives, the company has set up a Strategic Technology Steering Committee, chaired by founder and chairman Truong Gia Binh, with Chief Executive Nguyen Van Khoa serving as vice-chairman.
This move represents a significant step in FPT’s long-term vision to master core technologies, cultivate a highly skilled technology workforce, and contribute to Viet Nam’s technological sovereignty.
FPT Chairman Truong Gia Binh emphasised that the world is undergoing a profound shift in technological power: artificial intelligence is automating knowledge, semiconductors underpin all economic sectors, cybersecurity defines digital sovereignty, and quantum technology promises to usher in a new era of computing.
He stressed that “there is no resource more valuable than people, no competitive advantage more sustainable than people, and no greater strength than Vietnamese intelligence being placed in the right mission”.
Binh envisages FPT becoming a hub for nurturing and developing Viet Nam’s leading technology talent, working collectively to address national challenges. He added that FPT will serve as a training ground for future technological pioneers.
