(DTO) On January 6, the Organizing Committee of the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival 2025 (Dong Thap Province) officially released a report on the festival’s outcomes.

Held under the theme “Blossoms of a New Day,” the festival took place from December 27, 2025 to January 4, 2026, concluding with remarkable achievements that further affirmed Sa Dec’s position as the Mekong Delta’s “flower and ornamental plant capital”.

A momentous occasion as Dong Thap Province receives the certificate recognizing Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Craft as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The festival attracted nearly 1.2 million visitors, including more than 1,600 international guests. Total revenue generated from tourism and service-related activities was estimated at VND 468 billion. Notably, socialization efforts proved highly effective, with the participation of 39 enterprises, contributing more than VND 23.7 billion.

The hot air balloon activity "Sa Dec - Soaring with Vibrant Flowers" attracts 250,000 visitors.

Beyond the on-site excitement, the festival also created a strong buzz across digital platforms. According to statistics, festival-related activities garnered over 4.2 million views online. Livestreams of the opening ceremony and the “Check in with Sa Dec Flowers” campaign recorded record-breaking engagement, significantly amplifying the locality’s image on a global scale.

Large-scale floral installations attract crowds of visitors for photos.

A highlight throughout the festival was a series of iconic and heritage-inspired artistic works. The installation “Map of Vietnam Created from the Largest Number of Flower and Ornamental Plant Varieties” was officially recognized as a record, instilling great pride among local artisans. During the opening night, Dong Thap Province was honored to receive the Certificate recognizing the Sa Dec flower and ornamental plant cultivation craft as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The performance “A Century of Fragrance and Colors of the Flower Village” and the musical night at Huynh Thuy Le Ancient House vividly recreated the history and development of the land, deeply touching tens of thousands of visitors. Notably, for the first time, the hot air balloon experience “Sa Dec - Soaring Amid a Symphony of Flowers” was introduced, attracting 250,000 visitors eager to enjoy a new aerial perspective.

The Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival 2025  sparks a tourism boom, welcoming nearly 1.2 million visitors.

Beyond recreation, the festival also served as a catalyst for trade and commerce. The Flower and Ornamental Market, featuring 40 garden households, generated direct revenue of over VND 400 million in just a few days. The “Southern Flavors and Colors” food street, along with multi-sensory experience zones and the application of AR/QR technologies, demonstrated a flexible and modern approach to engaging visitors.

Despite challenges posed by infrastructure pressure from the surge in visitors and limited funding resources, the festival successfully fulfilled its dual objectives: honoring the value of farmers’ labor while opening up new economic prospects for Sa Dec. This success serves as a powerful catalyst for the city’s journey toward sustainable development and greater international integration in the future.
