Dong Thap: Achieving And Exceeding 26 Out Of 27 Targets Under The 2025 Resolution
(DTO) On the morning of January 7, the 1st Dong Thap Provincial Party Executive Committee (2025-2030 tenure) held its 2nd (Enlarged) Conference to review the implementation of political tasks in 2025 and deploy key tasks for 2026.

Attending the conference from central agencies were: Ms. Ho Thuy Hien, Deputy Director of Local Affairs Department III under the Central Organization Commission; Mr. Pham Minh Tam, Deputy Director of Local Affairs Department III under the Central Commission for Information and Mass Mobilization; and Mr. Tang Minh Nghia, Deputy Director of Area VIII Department under the Central Inspection Commission.
The conference was chaired by Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee and Head of the provincial National Assembly delegation; Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Committee; and Mr. Phan Van Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap Province.
In 2025, the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee focused on leading and directing the implementation of the province’s political tasks as well as additional tasks assigned by central authorities. As a result, Dong Thap achieved and exceeded 26 out of 27 targets set in the 2025 Resolution of the Provincial Party Executive Committee.

Notable achievements included meeting targets for Party member development, with 97.63% of Party members assessed as qualified and having fulfilled their duties well; 96.72% of grassroots Party organizations were rated as having completed their tasks well or better.
Economic growth reached 7.38%. The new rural development program was implemented comprehensively, and Dong Thap Province was officially recognized by the Prime Minister as having fulfilled the tasks for new rural development in 2024.

The proportion of trained workers reached 72%, including 36.5% with vocational training; the multidimensional poverty rate declined to 0.7%; and 100% of hazardous waste was treated.
Industrial production value amounted to VND 206,589 billion, up 11.5% year-on-year. Total social investment reached VND 85,515 billion, while total export turnover (excluding goods temporarily imported for re-export) reached USD 9.21 billion, up 1.2% compared to the same period.
State budget revenue in the province exceeded VND 23,891 billion, surpassing assigned targets. A total of 2,790 new enterprises were established, exceeding the plan. Urban construction and development continued to record notable progress. In 2025, the construction sector’s added value reached VND 13.2 trillion, accounting for 4.3% of GRDP, up 14.23% compared to 2024.
At the conference, leaders of departments and sectors also reported on their respective results in 2025 and outlined key tasks for 2026.
