(DTO) On the afternoon of July 2, a working delegation from the Dong Thap Provincial Department of Construction held a meeting with representatives of the People's Committees of Cao Lanh, My Ngai and My Tra wards, and My Tho Commune to discuss coordinating data collection and information sharing for the preparation of the Cao Lanh Urban General Master Plan task.

Overview of the meeting.

Earlier, pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 1740 issued by the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee on June 8, 2026 regarding the policy on urban and rural planning across the province, the Department of Construction was assigned the regulatory responsibility for preparing the Cao Lanh Urban General Master Plan. The planning area covers Cao Lanh Ward, My Tra Ward, My Ngai Ward and My Tho Commune.

At the meeting, the consulting unit presented the initial blueprints and strategic directions for the Cao Lanh Urban General Master Plan with a vision to 2050. Based on the presentation, participants debated and contributed a wide range of proposals, focusing on the orientation for intra-city transport networks and inter-regional routes, as well as the development of an economic corridor along the Tien River to boost connectivity among urban centres.

Delegates also proposed optimizing land allocation for commercial, service and tourism development; constructing synchronized residential and resettlement areas; and planning comprehensive development spaces for economy, culture, education, healthcare, science, technology and innovation. In addition, they highlighted the need to develop human resources, enhance public healthcare quality, and fully leverage the locality's unique potential and advantages.

Members of the working delegation called on the People's Committees of the relevant wards and commune to forge close and timely coordination with the consulting unit throughout the process of surveys, data collection and preparation of planning proposals. This is intended to ensure that the master plan has a long-term vision and aligns with the overall socio-economic development orientation of Dong Thap Province.

The final master plan will serve as a critical legal basis for urban management, investment attraction and the development of comprehensive infrastructure, thereby anchoring sustainable local socio-economic growth in the future.
