Dong Thap Pledges Best Conditions for Businesses and Investors

(DTO) On the morning of May 19, the People’s Committee of Dong Thap Province hosted a dialogue between provincial leaders and local businesses.

The conference was co-chaired by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Thanh Ngai, Standing Vice Chairman Tran Van Dung, and Provincial Business Association Chairman Tran Thanh Đức. Leaders of provincial departments, agencies, and a large number of local enterprises attended.

At the conference, enterprises and cooperatives raised various grievances and proposals to the provincial People’s Committee. These focused on key issues such as preferential credit access, supply-demand matching, trade promotion, market expansion, labor recruitment, and input material support. Business owners also sought policies on contract price support and subsidies for materials whose prices have surged by 30%, administrative procedures in land management, and funding to upgrade the remaining section of Provincial Road 867.

The concerns were directly addressed and clarified by provincial leaders and relevant departments.

Concluding the conference, Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai expressed solidarity with the difficulties currently facing enterprises. He stressed that the administration’s stance is to immediately resolve any eligible issues without delay. “All recommendations will be fully compiled and responded to in writing for enterprises and cooperatives. What can and cannot be done will be clearly explained,” he said.

Looking ahead, Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai encouraged enterprises to ramp up the application of science and technology, adjust business plans, and increase capacity to help the province achieve its double-digit economic growth targets.

The province is currently reviewing legacy projects and unresolved issues to develop clear roadmaps and solutions, while simultaneously rolling out new development plans.

According to Chairman Pham Thanh Ngai, this coming Thursday afternoon (May 21), the province is scheduled to unveil the adjusted Dong Thap Provincial Master Plan. He noted that the newly adjusted province holds immense potential and competitive advantages, creating numerous investment opportunities.

Following the announcement of the revised master plan, the locality will introduce various schemes to solicit investment. Therefore, the business community should actively explore these avenues to contribute to the province’s development.

Local authorities, he pledged, will provide maximum support and favorable conditions for enterprises and investors seeking investment and business opportunities in the province.
