Dong Thap Provincial Delegation Visits and Works in Henan Province (China)
(DTO) From December 15 to 20, 2025, a working delegation from Dong Thap Province, led by Phan Van Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap Province, paid a visit to and held working sessions in Henan Province, Yunnan Province (China), with the aim of strengthening friendly relations and promoting cooperation across multiple fields.
On the morning of December 15, the delegation held a working session with the leaders of Henan Province to discuss key cooperation contents on the development of ecological agriculture, ornamental plants, and agricultural product processing. Receiving and working with the delegation was Ms. Zhang Min, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Governor of Henan Province.

Also joining the Dong Thap delegation were Mr. Tran Van Dung, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of relevant departments and agencies, and representatives from two key localities: Sa Dec Ward and My Phong Ward, which are major ornamental plant and agricultural product production zones of the province.
At the working session, both sides recalled the Agreement on the Establishment of Friendly Relations signed in 1998 between Dong Thap Province (Vietnam) and Henan Province (China).
According to the agreement, the two localities are committed to strengthening cooperation and exchange in various sectors such as economy, trade, science and technology, culture, education, sports, and health, while maintaining regular exchanges between leaders and functional agencies to resolve difficulties and promote effective cooperation.
Over the 28 years since the signing, the friendly relationship between the two provinces has continuously been consolidated and developed, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding, trust, and practical cooperation.
The two sides also focused on discussing the potential and strengths in the production, processing, and transshipment of fruits, as both Dong Thap and Henan play important roles in the agricultural supply chain of their respective countries.

In this context, Henan possesses advantages in its synchronized transportation infrastructure system, airport facilities, and agro-food processing industry, while Dong Thap is a key agricultural production region in the Mekong Delta, with major exported agricultural products such as rice, mangoes, dragon fruit, Sa Dec – My Phong ornamental plants, and especially durian exported to the Chinese market, including Henan Province.
Through the visit, the leaders of the two provinces expressed their expectation to advance towards deeper, more comprehensive, and long-lasting cooperation agreements, creating favorable mechanisms to attract enterprises from both sides to invest in and link production-consumption of agricultural products effectively. Dong Thap is also scheduled to participate in an international fair in China in November 2026, thereby expanding opportunities for market connection and promoting the province's key agricultural products.

Later that afternoon, the Dong Thap provincial delegation visited and conducted a field survey at Zhengzhou Agricultural Development Group Co., Ltd., and held discussions with enterprises operating in the fields of poultry and livestock farming equipment, animal feed, veterinary medicine, agricultural machinery, as well as fruit traders, to explore opportunities for investment cooperation and agricultural product market linkage in the coming period.
