Gratitude Gathering Honoring Generals from Dong Thap Province
(DTO) On December 18, at the Phuong Nam Cultural Tourism Site (Tan Khanh Trung Commune, Dong Thap Province), the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, in coordination with the Liaison Association for Dong Thap Compatriots, organized a meeting to honor generals who hail from Dong Thap.
The event was attended by former provincial leaders; generals, current and former leaders of the Police and Military forces from Dong Thap; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, former Deputy Minister of National Defense and Chairman of the Liaison Association for Dong Thap Compatriots; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Thanh Nguyen; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuấn; and leaders of relevant departments and agencies.
In an atmosphere filled with "profound comradeship and brotherly affection," Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don wished the generals continued dedication and responsibility. He encouraged them to promote their knowledge, strategic thinking, and professional experience to further educate the younger generation on tradition and revolutionary heroism, inspiring them in the cause of national construction and defense.
The meeting served as an occasion to review the nation's heroic history and express gratitude for the immense contributions of the Armed Forces and generals to the glorious revolutionary cause. It aimed to evoke national pride, encouraging officials, party members, and all strata of the provincial population to uphold heroic traditions, overcome challenges, and work together to successfully achieve political tasks in the new era.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Thanh Nguyen expressed profound respect and deep gratitude to the generals - those who have made significant sacrifices for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and for the peaceful and happy lives of the people. He emphasized that each general is a living witness to the nation’s heroic resistance wars and its defense and construction efforts. They exemplify enthusiasm, responsibility, and bravery, having been tempered and tested through fierce battles on various fronts.
Looking ahead, Mr. Tran Thanh Nguyen expressed his hope that the generals would continue to play a core role in supporting the province in building the Armed Forces. He encouraged them to contribute their wisdom and experience to the province regarding the construction of defensive zones, national defense and security education, mass mobilization work, and handling complex situations during the integration period. He also hoped they would continue to mentor and support the younger generation of Dong Thap currently serving in the Military and Police forces.
Sharing his thoughts at the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don expressed his confidence that Dong Thap’s generals will continue to be a solid spiritual pillar and noble role models for officers and soldiers in both the Military and Police sectors to study and emulate.
