Inaugural Dong Thap Fruit Festival Honors 26 Outstanding Collectives and 44 Individuals
(DTO) On the afternoon of August 13, the Provincial People's Committee hosted a wrap-up conference to review the first Dong Thap Fruit Festival 2026. Themed “Dong Thap – Land of Sweet Fruits,” the event ran from June 5 to 8 at Hung Vuong Square in Dao Thanh Ward.
The conference welcomed Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan and Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment Le Ha Luan, who also serves as Deputy Head of the Festival Organizing Committee.

According to the Organizing Committee, the inaugural festival proved a resounding success, meeting all safety protocols, designated targets, and schedules. It generated a powerful social ripple effect, drawing enthusiastic engagement from locals, tourists, the business community, and localities both within and beyond the province.
This high-profile event played a pivotal role in promoting the image of Dong Thap and its people, showcasing the strategic value of the fruit industry, driving agro-commercial-tourism growth, and elevating the province’s profile in the Mekong Delta.
The festival featured a vibrant lineup of activities that seamlessly integrated technical seminars, trade promotion, cultural and tourism marketing, and community-driven experiences.

Highlights included exhibitions highlighting fruit value chains; a trade fair showcasing OCOP products and Mekong Delta specialties; and high-level seminars focused on expanding the fruit industry, developing structured raw-material zones, and building agricultural brands. The event also facilitated supply-demand matchmaking, e-commerce initiatives, agritourism tours, and tailored cultural performances serving residents and visitors.

Through these specialized forums, experts, scientists, businesses, and policymakers shared valuable insights, actionable solutions, and field-tested expertise. These contributions provided a robust scientific and empirical foundation to steer the fruit sector’s development, establish concentrated production zones, and sharpen the competitive edge of Dong Thap’s agricultural products moving forward.
The festival drew over 500,000 visitors who came to explore, shop, and travel, with total revenue from trade, services, and tourism estimated at nearly VND 100 billion.
Trade promotion schemes, exhibitions, and dedicated "Fruit Week" campaigns across modern retail networks successfully amplified the Dong Thap fruit brand, unlocked new consumer markets, and forged tighter links between enterprises, cooperatives, and local farmers with distribution networks nationwide.

Meanwhile, synergized communication campaigns rolled out across mass media, digital channels, and social networks created a powerful viral effect, broadly marketing the “Dong Thap – Land of Sweet Fruits” brand to residents, visitors, and the business community.
The integration of digital tech, e-commerce, livestream sales, interactive tourism maps, and curated orchard tours significantly boosted marketing efficiency, trade connectivity, and regional agritourism.
Addressing the conference, Mr. Le Ha Luan acknowledged that despite a compressed preparation window and the complexity of coordinating numerous localities, departments, and civil groups for the first time, the festival achieved its core mission despite minor shortcomings.
He urged that future editions upscale their professionalism, deliver sharper and more impactful content, and unlock greater economic value to supercharge local agriculture, tourism, and macro-economic growth.
On this occasion, 26 collectives and 44 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in delivering the successful inaugural Dong Thap Fruit Festival 2026.
