More than 200 Works Compete at the Expanded Mekong Delta Bonsai Contest
(DTO) Within the framework of the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival, on December 27, the Sa Dec Bonsai Museum organized the Expanded Mekong Delta Bonsai Competition.
The event saw the participation of artisans from provinces and cities across the Mekong Delta and Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending the event were Mr. Pham Van Chuan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People’s Council, along with local leaders and a large community of ornamental plant and bonsai artisans from across the region.

The competition gathered more than 200 bonsai works across various segments, including large, medium, small, miniature, and pre-bonsai (potential bonsai). Each work is a meticulously invested art piece, reflecting the creative mindset and sophisticated shaping techniques of the artisans.
In tandem with the competition, the Sa Dec Bonsai Museum also showcased over 300 unique bonsai and ancient ornamental plant masterpieces of high aesthetic value. On the opening day, the venue attracted a large number of local residents and tourists from all over.

The contest provides an opportunity for artisans to meet, exchange experience, and promote the art of bonsai, while also reaffirming the position of Sa Dec (Dong Thap province) as a land with a rich tradition of flowers, ornamental plants and ornamental living arts in the Mekong Delta.
According to the Organizing Committee, the Award Ceremony for the Expanded Mekong Delta Bonsai Competition will be held during the closing ceremony of the 2nd Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Plant Festival.
