Mr. Phan Van Thang Calls for Improved Quality of Party Cell Meetings in the New Period
(DTO) On the afternoon of August 18, the My Phong Ward Party Committee held a thematic training conference on “Improving the Quality of Party Cell Meetings” for secretaries, deputy secretaries and Party committee members of affiliated Party cells and organizations.
Mr. Phan Van Thang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, attended the conference and delivered the thematic presentation.

At the training conference, Permanent Deputy Secretary Phan Van Thang focused on clarifying requirements for innovating and improving the quality of Party cell meetings in accordance with Directive No. 50-CT/TW dated July 23, 2025, issued by the Secretariat, and Guidance No. 42-HD/BTCTW dated October 28, 2025, issued by the Central Organizing Commission.
According to Permanent Deputy Secretary Phan Van Thang, regular Party cell meetings should focus on reviewing political and ideological work, assessing the implementation of resolutions and assigned tasks, and clearly identifying tasks and solutions for the following month.
For thematic meetings, each Party cell should hold at least one meeting every quarter, selecting pertinent topics such as studying and following the ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh; Party building and the political system; and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.

The requirement is that Party cell meetings must provide a forum for Party members to discuss issues, conduct self-criticism and criticism, and propose solutions to resolve bottlenecks arising at the grassroots level.
Party cell secretaries need to preside flexibly, raise issues for discussion and encourage Party members to speak, particularly on new and complex matters directly related to people's lives.

To improve the quality of Party cell meetings in the new period, Permanent Deputy Secretary Phan Van Thang called for the synchronous implementation of eight groups of solutions: raising awareness of the position and role of Party cell meetings; innovating their content and format; strictly observing the principles of democratic centralism, self-criticism and criticism; improving the quality of Party cell secretaries; completing assessment criteria; promoting the role of higher-level Party committees; strengthening inspection and supervision; ensuring adequate facilities and promoting digital transformation.
At the same time, each Party committee and Party member should continue to study Party regulations in depth and apply them appropriately to practical realities; translate awareness into concrete action and resolutely address existing shortcomings; and constantly innovate and improve the quality of Party cell meetings.
These efforts will help leverage the role of Party cells as political nuclei at the grassroots level, contribute to consolidating public confidence, and building an increasingly clean and strong Party.
